This Chicken and Bamboo Hand-Painted Bamboo Painting is a traditional Chinese Xieyi ink artwork, measuring 50×50cm. It features a lively chicken rendered in expressive brushstrokes, nestled among elegant bamboo stalks—symbolizing resilience and harmony in Chinese culture. The style is loose yet intentional, capturing movement and spirit rather than rigid detail, which is the hallmark of Xieyi technique.
The painter, Shuhao Chen, is from Shantou, Guangdong, and is a member of the Shantou city art associate. He learns from Shaorong Li, who used to learn from Changchao Liu. Changchao Liu (1907-1997) was one of the most famous painters in the South China of 20th century especially in bamboo painting.
